The Expansion of ODR in Latin America

In the today`s blog post, we take a closer look at the work of Alberto Elisavetsky – Youstice`s business partner for Latin America - in the field of E-Mediation.

People who have heard of him already know, but those that haven`t may find it interesting to learn that the work of Alberto Elisavetsky – Youstice`s business partner for Latin America and accomplished expert in business mediation - in the field of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) is growing in scale every day; and not just on the continent, but also across the globe.

Alberto’s activities aimed at popularizing mediation and online dispute resolution have been a very dynamic and accelerating process. That’s not just because he’s one of the principal figures behind the development of the ODR movement in the South Hemisphere, but also because Latin America is one of the booming environments for new trends in mediation - not to mention one of the largest. He has earned this recognition through continuous efforts, tenacity and faith in the use of latest technologies in civil and commercial conflict resolution. Now seems to be the time when his efforts helped create a proper momentum, with more and more professionals joining the global ODR network, and public awareness on the rise.

As a Director of an internationally recognized training and diffusion network, called ODR Latinoamerica, Alberto`s mission is to help with the training of the future generations of mediators (ODR Latinoamerica Academy), connect professionals who resolve customer issues and show the businesses and public alike the benefits of ODR as a great alternative to a traditional way of resolving a conflict – the judicial trial.

His most notable achievements to date include his work alongside Justice and Human Rights Ministries of Argentina in the field of distance arbitration, his active involvement in the Cyberweek across the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian communities and presiding over the annual ADR Congress E-MARC.

At present, the distance training programs on ODR put together by Alberto and his team are generating a lot of recognition by mediators as well as by governmental entities. This marks another step in his professional quest to put ODR permanently on the Latin America´ map.
