4 Tips How to Motivate Your Employees

"With great power comes great responsibility." Yes. That's a quote from Spiderman. Maybe you are asking, how is this relevant for my business? Let's change the word order. With great responsibility comes great power. Why? Because your employees have great responsibility and with this responsibility comes great power. Power to make your customers satisfied.

To ensure this power will be used in the right way, take really good care of your employees and motivate them. The right motivation is a gamechanger when it comes to attitude and efficiency.

Here's a little hack for you. To keep the motivation of your employees on the track, use BEST formula.

Build relationships with your employees. It is said that a little kindness goes a long way and it is true. You don't have to be rude to prove your point. You don't have to be too formal to have authority.

Teambuildings are great for getting closer with your co-workers and employees. You will be able to find out more about them, which will lead to better understanding of their needs and preferences.

Apart from relationships, these activities will also build and cultivate your company's culture.

Educate your employees. Train them for specific situations that could occur. Give them know-how to improve their work flow. There are a lot of ways how to get better in your profession and many of them are free. Coursera offers wide range of courses in many fields. Hubspot's Inbound marketing course is free and comes even with a certificate.

If you want to educate your employees in a less sterile and more friendly atmosphere, set up weekly presentations. For example, Inspiration Tuesdays. Pass your knowledge to employees, inspire them with great insights.

TIP: Merge presentation with company breakfast. In a relaxed atmosphere and with good food, the presentation will be a success. If you don't want to make Inspiration days mandatory, thanks to the breakfast the participation will be much higher.

Satisfy needs of your employees. Every employee has different expectations, different attitude, different level of productivity in different times of the day. Perhaps some of them commute and 9 to 5 working hours are not the best solution. Talk to them and set more flexible working hours - 10 to 6 may be better for someone who is limited by traffic. There is a benefit for your company, too.

Treat your employees with respect. On top of that, don't forget to reward them. If you are not fond of "employee of the month" concept, little praise for good work will do, too. And, on the contrary, if your employee failed at something, explain it in a kind way and offer a few tips on how to avoid failure in the future. Fair treatment helps you manage good relationships.

There are many ways how to motivate your employees for better results. If you have your own motivational tips and tricks, let us know in comments or on social networks. :)
